Riding the real-estate boom, the developers are hiring bigtime to scale up their national operations. Such is the hiring spree that leading real-estate developers like DLF, Unitech, Hiranandani and the Omaxe group have doubled their workforce in the last one year. The real-estate market in the country now is opening up and a lot of FDI is coming into the business. With this, every group now needs people at all levels. So people are being taken left, right and centre.

The reason for demand for Real estate Cochin has been, the sudden spurt in the number of projects being handled by the developers. Also, the industry is on an expansion spree and the companies are spreading their arms to tier-II and tier-III cities like Pune, Mohali, Karnal, Coimbatore and Mysore. That is fuelling demand across functions, from sales, marketing, finance to engineers.The demand has been across different levels and functions. With the real-estate sector growing significantly, this trend is going to continue for a long time.

Developers are struggling to fill the vacant positions as there is a demand-supply mismatch with the demand of vacant jobs far outstripping the supply of skilled manpower. The high growth across the sector is widening the gap between demand and supply of skilled and mature talent.

The real-estate industry is growing at the rate of 30-40per cent, with 2005 being a landmark year as property prices have witnessed record highs. Some markets have shown explosive growth due to demand from IT services and BPO companies. And with the real-estate funds becoming the flavour of the season in private equity, the boom promises to continue into 2006. That's when money will start flowing into projects.
