PostSubject: Intro: Jude    Intro: Jude EmptySun Aug 22, 2010 10:50 pm

Hi I'm Jude.

I've made a decision to myself that I am going to start my own business from scratch. I will be quitting my full-time "safe" job at the end of Oct 2010 (this year) to concentrate on how I will want to start something of my own. I do not have much capital and have not managed to find a mentor but I assure all of you that I am sincere and committed to becoming an entrepreneur.

I have gotten lots of advice from many people and welcome even more if anyone would care to share them with me. I'll be more than happy to meet up with anyone or be apprenticed to a mentor if I am deemed worthy. I have no illusions about this path that I have chosen and have accepted anything that comes my way. I only believe in success, failure is not an option.

I'll like to share some of the things I thought about starting, with you all.
1) Corporate accounting service specifically targetting SMEs.
2) A Therapy centre aimed at providing full facilities for therapists to see their patients.
3) A peak-performance company which gives seminars.
4) A shop at a hawker centre.
5) An International trading company (Was looking into Metals and Beauty Products or anything else that is feasible)
6) An education school in China
7) A retail company of a certain product classified as a poison under S'pore's poison act (I've been working on this for the past 5 years but HSA doesn't seem to like me)
8 ) A cafe restaurant.

To be honest, I have not given up on any of these ideas and even though I may have put some of them aside for the time-being (the cash-flow and operations for some of them look really bad), I'll dust them off when the time is right. I am working on number 8 right now. I know recent news articles in the papers say that Singapore is in a food glut but I believe in being able to constantly evolve the business to avoid the death spiral.

If any of my ideas inspire you, please, go ahead and use them. I'm not selfish and if it means you can do it better than me, then market forces would probably choose you over me anyway. But most importantly, I believe that businesses are about team work. I don't assume to know everything and if someone can bring in something that I don't have, then I will be ever grateful to that person. So if any of you would like to look into starting something with me, or feel that you would be kind enough to impart some knowledge to the new guy, please please tell me.

My dream is to make people happy through the things I do. Hopefully I will be able to help young entrepreneurs start up one day as well. The greatest gift of life is the ability to give back.

Warmest Regards
Jude Sun

Hello Jude. You seem like a nice and honest person, not tat many peoplf say that much about themselves right away.

I am interested in meeting you. Maybe there are people i can recomned to you to meet. You should also try to go for entrepreneur meet ups. My competitor, 'project senso' has one every month. They call it 'sen'. Try searching google or meetup.com for them.

Meeting one other entrepreneurs is good because entrepreneurs tend to know other business people. Get to know one, then you can tap into his network.

A cafe seems like a pretty 'safe' business idea because there are so many around. Your cafe should ideally be different than the mass to stand out.

Feel free to put your contact nvmber up. I'm not sure if anyone will misuse it though. Usually we email or PM (personal message via e forum) each other.

You can try sending me a pm or email. Or i will try to contact you as well.

Hope to see you soon.

Hi Jude,

Its exciting to hear another entrepreneur plunging into the sea! Welcome on board. Some of your business idea does compliment mine whereas I also am helping to plan a cafe for another team. Well, I am not any mentor or consultant and not anywhere there. But I am keen to share some operational skills that SMEs may need. Let me know if you are keen to meet up and explore further.

Cheers
