Anybody who has a saloon wants to explore this business venture with me? I want a small corner from your saloon to display wigs for sale or rental. Can negotiate on cross-sell benefits.
what do you think of this business idea?

I like this idea. Its one of those, make money with little or no money ideas.
(The EAP grads will tell you a lot about it. They are the people with green user names)
Good idea because you can get your wigs sold or rented out without you trying to sell them. The hairstylists do that for you I presume.
However, I am not sure about the market for wigs. Balding people? (Strange that people with little hair go to saloons to get it cut.) As young persons, we have no need for it.
I have a suggestion though. It will be very unlikely that any hairstylist will come to SSuF. Thus, I suggest you go knock on their doors to clinch a deal.

Frankly speaking, not to be a wet blanket or something but, i have only seen 1 guy wear a wig in my whole life. It was very obvious because that dude is like 60+ and suppose to be balding or something and yet, upon his head was hair so thick and black like it was taken from a young man's head. I am 21 this year by the way.

They whole purpose of a wig is to make it seem like real hair. You probably have only seen one person wearing a wig because it was a low quality one. There may have been a lot of other people whose wigs went undetected to you.
After a while, we all forget that Phua Chu Kang wears a wig too.

Young girls nowadays do fanciful style on their hair. And they don't want it too permanent...... so that they can change to another latest style. Or they just want to make a fashion statement for that special evening function only.
Another group is the ladies with hair thining problem. => if they are late 30s and early 40's they will pay for a good wig.
Another group - sad to say, are the cancer patients. Family members will buy at all costs wig to bring dignity back to their loved ones who suffers hair loss during chemotherapy.
And the guys - they thought 'game is over' when they hair start thinning.
I think it is going to do well. But I need a partner with a saloon to start. If not, again I will go back to ebay store.........em. :<)

Hi Diz, my dear, money. Wig can be made with synthetic material or real human hair. Basically you pay more for human hair wig.

I don't think the problem here is the wig quality. Human hair wigs have fairly good quality, and are just a matter of getting used to.
The problem here is reaching out to the market. I believe Esther should knock on saloon doors, if not, you won't be able to reach them. I doubt eBay will be a good place to sell these wigs.

Good, get as many saloons as you can. The more the better. There are so many in Singapore!

Start up of this nature could roughly be around $1,000-$6,000 dollars. The overall cost will depend on whether or not you have all of the equipment needed to style hair. You also will need to be a licensed cosmetologist. The niche of this opportunity? Who wouldn’t love getting the latest styles right in the comfort of their own home? You could advertise your services at hospitals or even executive offices. Earnings for the year? How does $45,000+ sound?
